With some of us changing career paths and industries up to 3-6 times in our career, how can you be assured to choose the correct next step for yourself? How do we know if you are moving into a toxic environment or an environment where you will be successful? If you know you want to be creative have a seat at the table, or change industries, what are the best ways to assess the potential fit in a new position? If you want to retain and coach the people on your teams toward their optimal career path, how can you do that without a background as a career coach? Are you unsure of your career strengths, and how to leverage these to find a career path where you can demonstrate mastery? We will answer these questions and more in this interactive and illuminating webinar. Instead of just guessing about your career direction, or using other people’s sometimes biased thoughts, you will connect with your unique strengths and particular “must haves” needed in a successful career path, customized to you!
Part 1
You will use the trademarked Key Elements ™ assessment tools and specific questions like a detective to shine a light on the important factors that you require in a more ideal position.
You will clarify your optimal Key Elements:
Manager/Business Partner *Colleagues *Key Values*Meaningful Job Activities *Special Considerations *Supportive Culture and Environment *Minimum Salary and Benefits *Maximum Commute
Your completed Key Elements document will be used as a visioning tool, so you keep your eyes on what you want, instead of being dragged down in your current environment. Additionally, you can use the Key Elements document to vet potential opportunities and avoid future avenues where you might not be successful.
We will also examine how you might find these Key Elements in a host of known and unknown situations, including your current organization or new and creative job choices.
Part 2
Once you have gathered information on your two possible career paths, you will use an upgraded pros and cons method to help you make careful and informed future decisions. The facilitator will offer spot coaching to those participants who are still unsure of their career choice or would like additional insight.
We will further explore your career strengths, and boost your confidence in identifying and articulating these strengths with the popular “SOAR” method: Situation-Obstacle-Action-Results. Additionally, participants will receive instruction on how to use the assessments from the class to help others create their own Key Elements “wish list” for the future.
