Overview
People want to know their personal data is protected, and privacy rules for organizations keep getting stricter. This 60-minute GDPR and CCPA training explains two laws that give individuals more control over their privacy and personal data: the EU's General Data Protection Regulation and the California Consumer Privacy Act.
You'll look at the current regulatory environment and what led to tougher data protection and privacy laws, then at what GDPR is and what the California Consumer Privacy Act covers. The session explains the key conditions of each and the consequences for organizations that get it wrong.
It closes with a look at where data protection and privacy may be heading.
Why attend: Better technology and monitoring tools have made data protection a serious public concern, and effective regulation matters more than ever. A key question is whether GDPR and California's law will become a model for other countries and states. This session suits anyone in a compliance, risk or privacy-related role who needs to understand these laws and their implications for their organization.
