This 90 minute program will review legal issues related to workplace violence, including the ADA direct threat standards, the OSHA Directive, legal theories of employer liability, and will address policies and best practices so that your company can minimize or act upon such threats.
Incidents of workplace violence are on the rise. According to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, nearly 2 million employees each year report being subjected to workplace violence—and those are only the ones reported. Threats by employees or actual harm to co-workers or property unfortunately, continue to increase, with sometimes tragic results. The good news is that often these incidents can be prevented, with prompt, sometimes immediate, action—if you are prepared. Appropriate policies, training, or an understanding of the overall practices can go a long way toward preventing violent acts, and enable you to identify, act and deal with the aftermath and crucial follow-up issues
